Hillcrest Recreation Center Artists present:

Our first art show.

Most of the artists in this show have never painted with watercolor before.

The first group of pictures are the first paintings.
The second group are trees.
The third group of abstract paintings are the first exercise in the class. Artists are asked to try out each brush with each of the primary colors.
Experimenting with:
   *wet brush on wet paper,
   *dry brush on wet paper,
   *wet brush on dry paper, and
   *dry brush on dry paper.
The final group is an exercise of making plaid with the primary colors so that the artist can see how the colors blend to make other colors.
The background of the show sign is a painting creating kinds of gray using the colors that are opposite each other on the color wheel

    This art show was inspiring to me, and I will continue my journey to becoming a better artist. I’m thankful for our instructor, Elin Whitney-Smith for making art so much fun. In addition to that, the classmates are very encouraging. They inspire me to improve!
